— Our only relationship with God is through faith. Not by works Eph 2:8-9.
— We live out this relationship daily by faith. Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11, Hebrews 10:38.
— Colossians. 1:3-4. We don’t talk about Church’s faith like that today. The real focus is supposed to be on faith.
— Faith is at the very center of our relationship with God.
1. A factual ignorance of God.
A. 1 John 5:4.
— Faith is only a factor when your vision is greater than your resources.
— We know God is omnipresent, powerful, all knowing. But what he says about Himself. Is captured in the 7000 promises in the Bible, and his precepts, and principals.
— If we don’t know what God says but himself is a hope-so hope. But God’s word tells us how to know-so.
— We don’t know His Word. We won’t read His love letters to us.
2. A faith enslaved by our feelings.
— We begin to live our lives by feelings and not by faith. They over rule our faith in God.
— Our culture is unraveling because of an obsession with feelings. We prefer feelings over facts. Feelings will change.
A. Matt 21:21
— That’s what faith can do, and feelings can do nothing.
— I want faith to dictate my life, and not my very real feelings.
B. Luke 5:4-6
— Peter didn’t feel like fishing. A look at his resources didn’t fire his vision. Aren’t you glad he didn’t obey his feelings
