On our website you will learn how we experience Christ at Washington Baptist. We have a lot of opportunities for you, so hang tight, explore the FAQs below, and come over on Sunday for an in-person welcome.
Opportunities to Worship
Our traditional service meets at 8:30am on Sunday morning. We meet in the Sanctuary where traditional hymns and older songs of the faith are used for congregational praise. Our worship in this service is led by Rev. Chuck Auten and includes the use of an Adult Choir and orchestra. You will find the service to be simple, friendly, and traditionally reverent.
Our contemporary service meets at 11:00am in the Family Life Center where celebrative and energetic praise songs are used for congregational worship. Rev. Chuck Auten leads our worship in this service with the use of the Praise Band and Praise Team. The setting and atmosphere is contemporary and casual. You will find the service to be exciting, free in expression, and uplifting.

What do you believe?
We believe in the one Eternal God and Father in heaven and in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative, and infallible Word of God to man. We believe, as expressed in the Scriptures, that an individual can receive the forgiveness of sin and the gift of eternal life only through faith in Christ, receiving Him as their personal Lord and Savior. For more information about our beliefs, read Our Story or contact us.
Who can be baptized at Washington Baptist Church?
Individuals who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and publicly profess their faith will have the opportunity, out of obedience to Christ, to be baptized by immersion.
What is the process of becoming a member?
We emphasize membership, because Christ gave priority to the church’s growth and health. Choosing to be a member clearly expresses your commitment to Christ and to God our Father in heaven through committing to his bride, the family of believers. We all need a spiritual family to support and encourage us in the Faith. We accept members into the church in one of the following three ways:
- Profession of Faith and Baptism – Individuals who profess for the first time their faith in Christ by receiving Him as their personal Lord and Savior and in obedience to Him follow in baptism by immersion.
- Transfer of Membership – Individuals who are members of another Baptist church can request membership via a transfer of their membership to this congregation.
- Statement of Faith – Individuals who are members of a non Baptist church can request membership upon a declaration of having received Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and having in obedience to Him followed with baptism by immersion. Otherwise, baptism by immersion will be required for membership.
