- Fuel The Fire
4/2/17, Pastor Stan Candler
DRAW NEAR TO ME AND I WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU.
JAMES 4:8A
— We are as close to God as we choose to be.
Romans 12:11
— We have a mandate to keep the Fire from God HOT in our soul regardless of circumstances.
— A fire must have fuel to keep burning.
How Do We keep ablaze for God?
TRUST: (An acrostic)
1. Turn your life over to God.
A. Psalm 1:1-3. Feed your fire the Word of God.
B. James 1:22. If we don’t do anything with revealed truth from God’s Word, it is of no value to us.
2. Return to your first love.
A. Revelation 2:4. When we love someone, we want to spend every possible moment together.
B. Proverbs 8:34. Are we anxious to greet the Lord daily? Is He a priority.
— Fire requires oxygen. It is our personal time with God that allows the fire to burn.
3. Undeterred in our worship.
A. Romans 12:1. Fear of man is the number one deterrent. What will people think of me?
B. Hebrews 13:15.
4. Surrender daily to the Holy Spirit.
A. 1 Thessalonians 5:19. Is there anything in your life that is quenching the Spirit?
B. Ephesians. 5:18. It’s a command to be filled with the Spirit. It only takes five seconds to sincerely pray for infilling as you surrender control.
5. Trust other people with your fire.
A. Hebrews 10:23-25. We need to participate with and in the body of Christ.
So. What does your fire look like?
