Senior Pastor
Pastor Stan was born and raised in the Washington Baptist Church community. His family has been active members of the church for 60+ years. It was here he committed his life to Christ and later surrendered to the Lord’s call into the ministry. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has been a pastor for 34 years with the last 25 years being the Senior Pastor of Washington.
Rev. Rusty Freeman
Youth Pastor
Rusty is a graduate of Anderson University and Covington Theological Seminary. He served as interim Youth & Children’s pastor at Washington for 3 ½ years before being called to serve as Youth Pastor at Lugoff First Baptist for one year. In 2007, Washington called him back as full-time Youth Pastor. He and his wife Amber have five children (3 girls & 2 boys). Rusty enjoys spending time with family, hunting and fishing and playing sports. His passion is preaching & teaching God’s Word and seeing people come to know the Lord and walk with Him.
Lauren Sutherland
Children's Ministry Director
Lauren is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Lauren taught for 4 years before being led to serve as a Children’s Ministry Director. She served at Temple Baptist before being called to Washington Baptist Church. She and her husband, Ty, have two children, Burkely and Sam. Lauren enjoys sewing, spending time with family, and Christmas. Her passion is teaching children about the love of Christ and helping them become resilient disciples of Christ.
